Introduction to UX/UI

Welcome to this course on UX/UI Design for Freelancers.

Good UX/UI design is about much more than making digital products look attractive. It is about understanding users, identifying the problems they face, organizing information clearly, and designing experiences that are useful, intuitive, and easy to use.

Across three modules, you will build your skills step by step. You will first explore the fundamentals of UX and UI, what clients expect from freelance designers, and the types of products and deliverables you may be asked to create. You will then follow the UX/UI design process from research and discovery through to design, prototyping, delivery, and feedback. Finally, you will develop the designer mindset needed to understand your role, distinguish between client preferences and user needs, and think through problems before jumping into design tools.

By the end of the course, you will have a practical foundation for approaching UX/UI projects as a freelancer, from understanding the assignment to designing and delivering solutions that respond to real user needs.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

Explain the fundamentals of UX/UI design, recognize what clients expect from freelance designers, and identify the main types of products and deliverables you may be asked to create;
Apply the main stages of the UX/UI design process, from mapping user journeys and organizing information to creating prototypes, delivering your work, and responding to client feedback; and
Apply a problem-solving mindset to UX/UI projects by understanding your role, distinguishing between client requests and user needs, and asking the right questions before developing a design solution.
